Notably, attributing authorship to a work comes with accountability, which is challenging to apply to Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT. These models do not currently meet our criteria for authorship. When writing an article, it is essential to include an introduction that expands on the background of the work, referencing relevant texts.

The manuscript text file should begin with a title page that lists author affiliations and contact information, identifying the corresponding author with an asterisk. The abstract should not exceed 200 words and provide a general introduction to the topic, summarizing the main results and their implications without including any references. The title should be concise, scientifically accurate, and describe the main message of the article in a single sentence.

The main text should be no longer than 4,500 words (excluding the abstract, methods, references, and figure legends). Ideally, articles should not exceed 11 typeset pages. However, we recommend writing concisely and adhering to these guidelines. Scientific Reports publishes original research in two formats: Article and Registered Report.

When characterizing chemical and biomolecular materials, it is crucial to use accurate nomenclature and abbreviations. Additionally, authors must obtain consent from participants and ensure that the work meets ethical standards for publication. By following these guidelines, researchers can effectively communicate their findings and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge.
